PokerStars Big Game Week 6
The first chunk of PokerStars Big Game episodes have been completed, with more waiting in the wings, ready to be unleashed. Week 6 featured another limp Loose Cannon, but the high-octane pros provided more than enough excitement. Not least poker’s enfant terrible, Phil Hellmuth. The world record bracelet holder rarely misses the opportunity for a blow-up when the cameras are in attendance and he didn’t disappoint this week. The target of his vitriol was online sensation Dan “Ansky” Stern, who had Hellmuth totally on tilt. His antics are undoubtedly the most watchable of any of the free poker no downloads sponsored players.

In the early going, the the cameras focussed on the Loose Cannon, Andre Capella. He proved to be a very tight player who wasn’t in the habit of creating exciting pots. Thankfully he only last a total of 88 hands. Like all Loose Cannons, he qualified by winning a free tournament on the PokerStars Download. The former racing car driver showed some signs of life early on, but had the wind thoroughly knocked from him by a Phil Hellmuth suckout. Holding J-J against the poker brat’s J-8, he saw a blank flop, followed by runner-runner eights. It was the kind of hand that would have had Phil enraged had he been on the other end of it. Perhaps the Poker Brat needs to spend more time with a poker odds table.

Capella’s stack never recovered from this mauling. In his final hand, he once again got a bad slice of luck, this time against Dani Stern. He needed some cold hard poker tells to help him out, but they weren’t forthcoming. His K-Q hit top pair on a board of K-6-4, as did Stern with K-10. A ten on the turn was all she wrote and when both players pushed all-in, the horrible truth was revealed. They ran it twice but both times the Loose Cannon missed his outs. He’ll was sent on his way, back to grinding PokerStars Bonus Code offers.

Stern turned out to be the big winner from Week 6, much to Phil Hellmuth’s chagrin. Phil couldn’t handle losing a pot after having the best of it early on and began running his mouth in riveting fashion. A veteran of US poker sites chat wars, Dani wasn’t one to take it lying down and began firing back with both barrels. It didn’t last for the whole session, with Hellmuth offer to buy Stern a conciliatory bottle of Dom Perignon. As the week was winding down, Big Game host Amanda Leatherman brought on a surprise bottle of the fine champagne for Hellmuth to award to Stern as an apology. As the credits rolled, the pair appeared to be patching up their differences.

Proprietor of Daniels Room Poker, Daniel Negreanu was in typically boisterous form, eager to bait the Hellmuth shaped tilt-machine to his left. He even provoked Phil to ask him, “What have you ever done in holdem?” to which to the witty Canadian replied, “not that much.” It should be noted that Negreanu has the second highest career winnings total in live tournaments in the history of the game.
